Gadecki, Peers Make History with Back-to-Back AO Mixed Doubles Titles

Hometown wildcards Olivia Gadecki and John Peers created history by successfully defending their Australian Open mixed doubles title with a thrilling 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Kristina Mladenovic and Manuel Guinard.

They became the first pair in 37 years to claim consecutive AO mixed doubles crowns and the first Australians to do so since 1964. Peers clinched his third Grand Slam mixed doubles title, while Gadecki lifted her second major trophy.

The Australians held their nerve in a tense match tie-break, sealing victory after Guinard’s return found the net to spark celebrations at Rod Laver Arena.
