Dembele Hat-Trick Fires France Past Norway 4-1 to Win Group I
Ousmane Dembele starred with a stunning first-half hat-trick as France defeated Norway 4-1 to finish top of Group I at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Kylian Mbappe played a key role by assisting Dembele’s first two goals, while Thelo Aasgaard briefly reduced the deficit for Norway. Dembele’s treble became the first first-half World Cup hat-trick since 1994 and the third hat-trick of the 2026 tournament. Norway had a chance to fight back after the break, but Mike Maignan brilliantly saved Jorgen Strand Larsen’s penalty.
Both teams had already secured qualification for the Round of 32, with France advancing as group winners and Norway finishing second. Haaland remained level with Mbappe on four tournament goals.
