Finn Allen Opens Up On Mental Struggles After Match-Winning Knock For KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders opener Finn Allen revealed he became “a shell of a human” after struggling under pressure during the early phase of IPL 2026.
The New Zealand batter bounced back in style on Saturday, smashing 93 off just 35 balls against Gujarat Titans to guide KKR to a crucial 29-run win at Eden Gardens. Allen, who scored only 81 runs in his first five matches before being dropped, credited his revival to taking a short break and rediscovering the joy of batting. He said reducing self-imposed pressure and focusing on enjoying the game helped him regain confidence. Allen’s explosive innings, featuring 10 sixes, kept KKR’s playoff hopes alive as they moved to seventh place with two league games remaining.
