Banton Stars as England Beat Scotland by Five Wickets
England defeated Scotland by five wickets in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at Eden Gardens. Tom Banton smashed an unbeaten 63, while Jacob Bethell scored 32 in a key partnership.
Earlier, Adil Rashid (3-36) and Jofra Archer (2-24) restricted Scotland to 152 despite 49 from Richie Berrington. England stumbled early, losing Phil Salt and Jos Buttler cheaply, but Banton steadied the chase with composure.
Supported by Sam Curran, he guided England to 155/5 with 10 balls remaining, sealing their first-ever T20 World Cup win over a European side.
