England Fast Bowler John Turner Retires From Professional Cricket At 25

England fast bowler John Turner has announced his retirement from professional cricket at just 25 due to persistent injury problems. The Hampshire pacer, who represented England in two ODIs and two T20Is during the 2024 West Indies tour, has not played since June last year because of a back stress fracture.

Despite having two years left on his Hampshire contract, Turner said recurring injuries prompted him to pursue a new career. An economics and finance graduate from the University of Exeter, he thanked Hampshire for their unwavering support.

Hampshire’s director of cricket, Giles White, praised Turner’s talent and wished him success in the next chapter.
