England Close in on 3-0 Series Sweep as Pakistan Collapse to 52-2 at Edgbaston

England moved closer to a 3-0 series whitewash against Pakistan after dominating the second day of the third Test at Edgbaston on Thursday. The hosts piled up 453 in their first innings, taking a huge 320-run lead after Pakistan were dismissed for just 133.

Harry Brook missed out on a century after being run out for 75, while Dan Lawrence scored 65 and Jamie Smith made 69. Ollie Robinson then added a rapid 50 off 47 balls, with Jofra Archer contributing a quickfire 32. Pakistan debutant Razaullah was their best bowler, finishing with 4-148.

Pakistan’s second innings began disastrously, with Ollie Robinson dismissing Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique inside four deliveries to leave them 0-2. Azan Awais and Shan Masood offered some resistance before rain interrupted play. Pakistan eventually ended the day on 52-2, still trailing England by 268 runs.

The result now appears almost inevitable, with England firmly in control and Pakistan facing the prospect of a humiliating two-day defeat.
