England Crush Pakistan by Innings and 103 Runs to Take 1-0 Lead

England completed a dominant innings-and-103-run victory over Pakistan inside three days in the first Test at Headingley.

Pakistan were bowled out for just 135 in their second innings after conceding a 238-run first-innings lead. Ollie Robinson led England’s attack, finishing with match figures of 8/80 to claim Player of the Match honours, while Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue also contributed to Pakistan’s collapse. Mohammad Rizwan offered some resistance with 41, but England’s pace attack wrapped up the innings in 38 overs.

Earlier, England posted 409, with Harry Brook making 91, Jordan Cox 73, Joe Root 66 and Dan Lawrence 51. Robinson and Tongue had earlier taken five wickets each as Pakistan were dismissed for 171. The second Test begins at Lord’s on August 27.
