Dilip Mahadu Gavit Commonwealth Games gold
India enjoyed a dream finish in the para athletics competition at the Commonwealth Games 2026 as Dilip Mahadu Gavit stormed to gold in the men’s 100m T47 with a Games Record of 10.71 seconds.
Fellow Indian Mohammed Basil Morssinganakathi claimed silver in a season-best 10.83 seconds, completing a memorable one-two finish for the country. England’s Kevin Santos took bronze in 10.85 seconds. Gavit’s victory marked India’s third gold medal of the Games and took the nation’s overall medal tally to 15 (3 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze).
The historic performance further underlined India’s growing strength in para athletics, with Gavit adding another major international achievement to his impressive career.
