Sam Curran stars as Desert Vipers book ILT20 playoffs berth

The Desert Vipers sealed a playoff berth in DP World ILT20 Season 4 with a five-wicket win over Dubai Capitals at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, also becoming the first team to record six consecutive victories in the tournament.

Chasing 167, the Vipers were powered by Sam Curran’s superb all-round display, as he claimed two wickets and followed it up with an unbeaten 52 off 33 balls. Contributions from Max Holden, Hassan Nawaz and Shimron Hetmyer ensured the chase stayed on track. Earlier, Leus du Plooy’s 54 and a late flourish from Jordan Cox and Dasun Shanaka lifted the Capitals to 166/4.
