Cristiano Ronaldo Focuses on Portugal’s Success After Historic World Cup Record-Breaking Brace

Cristiano Ronaldo put personal milestones aside and praised Portugal’s collective performance after scoring twice in a 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The Portuguese captain became the first player to score in six different World Cups and also the second-oldest goalscorer in tournament history. Despite the records, Ronaldo stressed that helping Portugal achieve their objectives remains his priority. Coach Roberto Martinez hailed the team’s response following the disappointing draw against DR Congo.

Ronaldo’s first-half brace guided Portugal to a commanding win and took his World Cup tally to 10 goals, surpassing Eusebio as Portugal’s all-time leading World Cup scorer.
