Alcaraz Completes Career Grand Slam in Melbourne
World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz cruised into the fourth round of the Australian Open with a commanding 6-2, 6-4, 6-1 win over Corentin Moutet in his 100th Grand Slam match.
The victory improved Alcaraz’s Slam record to 87-13, equalling Bjorn Borg for the best start after 100 major matches and surpassing legends Rafael Nadal and John McEnroe. The 22-year-old Spaniard regrouped strongly after a brief second-set wobble to dominate the contest.
A six-time major champion, Alcaraz is chasing his maiden Australian Open title, which would complete a Career Grand Slam and make him the youngest to achieve the feat.
