Bangladesh Add Soumya Sarkar To T20I Squad As Litton Das Faces Fitness Concern

Bangladesh have added experienced opener Soumya Sarkar to their squad for the three-match T20I series against Australia, starting in Chattogram on June 17. The move comes amid uncertainty over captain Litton Das’s fitness after he suffered a muscle strain during the third ODI against Australia in Mirpur.

Litton remains under observation and is set to undergo a scan, with his availability for the series opener yet to be confirmed. As a precaution, the Bangladesh team management opted to add extra batting cover.

Soumya brings significant experience, having scored 1,462 runs in 87 T20Is for Bangladesh and recently featured in the ODI squad against Australia.
