Najmul Hossain Shanto’s Fifty Extends Bangladesh Lead Against Pakistan in Dhaka Test
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto struck an unbeaten 58 to guide his side to a 179-run lead against Pakistan on a rain-affected fourth day of the first Test in Dhaka.
Bangladesh reached 152/3 in their second innings at stumps after early setbacks reduced them to 23/2. Shanto rebuilt the innings with Mominul Haque, who scored 56 and crossed 5,000 Test runs during their 105-run stand. Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 386 in reply to Bangladesh’s 413, despite a century on debut from Azan.
Rain wiped out the afternoon session, setting up an intriguing final day at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
