India Exit Badminton Asia Team Championships After Quarterfinal Losses
India’s campaign at the Badminton Asia Team Championships ended in the quarterfinals in Qingdao as the men lost 1-3 to Korea and the women were beaten 0-3 by favourites China.
In the men’s tie, Ayush Shetty narrowly missed an opening win before Korea sealed the contest despite Kidambi Srikanth’s straight-games victory. The women, missing PV Sindhu, struggled against China’s depth, with Gao Fang Jie setting the tone and the world No.4 Chinese doubles pair proving decisive.
Despite spirited efforts from Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Rakshita Sree, India could not progress further.
