Arjun-Hariharan Advance to Australian Open Doubles Second Round

India’s men’s doubles pair of MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan stormed into the second round of the Australian Badminton Open with a convincing 21-13, 21-13 victory over American duo Arden Quan Lee and Stanley Xing.

The Indian pair dominated the opening game and overcame a brief challenge in the second before pulling away comfortably. However, fellow Indians Achutaditya Rao Doddavarapu and Arjun Reddy Pochana bowed out after a straight-game loss to local pair Kanki Igawa and Ooi Ye Hern. With their exit, Arjun and Hariharan remain India’s only men’s doubles representatives in the tournament.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu and Malvika Bansod begin their campaigns on Wednesday.
