Anish Bhanwala
Olympian Anish Bhanwala clinched his first senior individual world championship medal, winning silver on day two of the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo.
The 23-year-old survived four intense shoot-offs, showing remarkable composure against Ukraine’s Maksym Horodynets and Germany’s Emanuel Mueller. France’s Clement Bessaguet took gold, upgrading his previous silver medals. Anish, who scored 585-22x in qualification, showcased consistency throughout the final, holding his nerve in crucial moments.
Elated after the win, he said the feeling was “completely unreal,” crediting improved preparation for his success. The silver also secured Anish’s qualification for the World Cup Final in Doha next month.
