Afghanistan Beat West Indies By 38 Runs In First T20I
Afghanistan made a strong start to their T20I series against West Indies with a commanding 38-run victory on Monday, powered by a record third-wicket stand between Ibrahim Zadran and Darwish Rasooli.
Zadran struck a career-best unbeaten 87, while Rasooli added 84 as the duo stitched together a 162-run partnership, lifting Afghanistan to 181/3.
In reply, West Indies faltered against quality spin bowling from Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, slipping to 143/9 despite late resistance from debutant Quentin Sampson. The win gives Afghanistan early momentum in the three-match series.
The next two games will be played on Jan.21 (Wed) and Jan 22 (Thu).
