Shreyanka Patil Ruled Out Of Women’s T20 World Cup, Prema Rawat Named Replacement

India suffered a setback in the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup as offspinner Shreyanka Patil was ruled out with an ankle injury sustained during the group-stage match against the Netherlands at Headingley. The 23-year-old twisted her ankle while fielding in the Powerplay and was forced off the field.

Uncapped legspinner Prema Rawat has been approved as her replacement for the remainder of the tournament. Rawat, 24, has played six WPL matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and impressed in domestic cricket for Uttarakhand.

India now face selection decisions ahead of their crucial group match against South Africa on June 21.
