Roshibina Devi Wins Silver in Wushu at Asian Games 2026
India’s Roshibina Devi secured a silver medal in the women’s 60kg Wushu event at the Asian Games 2026 after losing to China’s Xiaoyu Zhang in the final on Thursday.
The medal marked Roshibina’s third Asian Games podium finish, following bronze in 2018 and silver in 2023. Roshibina began her campaign with a 5-0 quarterfinal victory over Macao’s Chu Man Sin before defeating Indonesia’s Thania Kusumaningtyas 2-0 in the semifinal. She eventually lost 0-2 to Zhang in the gold-medal bout.
The silver was India’s 11th Wushu medal in Asian Games history, taking the tally to one gold, two silver and eight bronze medals. India have now won 14 medals at the 2026 Games, including one gold, six silver and seven bronze. Hailing from a farming family in Manipur, Roshibina trains at the SAI NCOE Imphal under coach Maibam Premkumar Singh.
She is an Arjuna Award recipient and has also been named the International Wushu Federation’s Female Wushu Athlete of the Year in Sanda.
