PV Sindhu, Satwik-Chirag Among India’s Seeded Stars for BWF World Championships 2026

Japan Open champion PV Sindhu has been seeded ninth, while the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have received the fifth seed for the BWF World Championships 2026, to be held at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Stadium from August 17 to 23.

India has two entries in each of the five categories, with seeded players in four events. Lakshya Sen is seeded 14th in men’s singles, while Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto are 15th seeds in mixed doubles.

Sindhu, the 2019 world champion, remains India’s biggest medal hope. Defending champions Shi Yuqi and An Se Young are the top seeds in men’s and women’s singles respectively ahead of Wednesday’s draw.
