Mohammed Saifuddin Ruled Out Of Asian Games 2026 With Hamstring Injury

Bangladesh allrounder Mohammed Saifuddin has been ruled out of the ongoing 20th Asian Games after suffering a right hamstring injury during a practice session on September 19.

Bangladesh national team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed that Saifuddin complained of pain while bowling. An MRI and physical examination later confirmed the injury. He is expected to require around three weeks of rehabilitation.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has informed the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) about the player’s unavailability. The BCB will nominate a replacement, subject to approval from the Games authorities.

Saifuddin recently represented Bangladesh A in a series against South Africa, playing one unofficial Test and two one-day matches. His most recent appearance for the senior national team came during Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe in July.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play their Asian Games quarter-final on September 29.
