Suthar, Jadeja Shine as India Take 178-Run Lead vs Sri Lanka
Left-arm spinners Manav Suthar and Ravindra Jadeja shared seven wickets as India bowled Sri Lanka out for 284 on day three of the first Test in Galle.
Suthar made an immediate impact on his Test debut, taking 4-76, while Jadeja claimed 3-57 and reached 350 Test wickets. India secured a commanding 178-run first-innings lead after posting 462, with Devdutt Padikkal scoring 167. Sri Lanka slipped to 90/5 before Sonal Dinusha and Niroshan Dickwella revived the innings with a 146-run partnership.
Dinusha scored a maiden Test century, while Dickwella made 80. India then dismissed Sri Lanka’s final five batters for just 50 runs. Rain forced an early end to play, preventing India from starting their second innings.
