Jyoti Wins India’s Only Gold at World Boxing Cup 2 in China
Jyoti delivered a superb performance to win India’s only gold medal at the World Boxing Cup 2 in China, defeating Farzona Fozilova by a unanimous 5-0 decision in the women’s 48kg final.
Jyoti outclassed the reigning World Boxing Cup Brazil champion to cap off a memorable campaign. India also secured three silver medals through Minakshi (51kg), Prachi (57kg) and Deepak (70kg), who finished runners-up in their respective finals. Earlier, Jugnoo and Nikhil earned bronze medals, taking India’s overall tally to six medals.
The strong showing highlighted India’s growing depth and competitiveness on the international boxing stage.
