Germany made a sensational start to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a dominant 7-1 victory over Curacao in their Group E opener.
Felix Nmecha scored the fastest goal of the tournament inside six minutes before Curacao briefly stunned the four-time champions through Livano Comenencia’s historic equaliser. Germany quickly regained control, with Nico Schlotterbeck and Kai Havertz giving them a 3-1 lead at halftime. Julian Nagelsmann’s side produced a ruthless second-half display, adding four more goals to complete the rout.
Havertz scored twice, while Deniz Undav also played a key role in the emphatic win. The result sends a strong message to Germany’s World Cup rivals as they begin their quest for a fifth world title.
