Deniz Undav Brace Sends Germany into FIFA World Cup 2026 Knockouts
Germany booked their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Côte d’Ivoire in Group E.
The Ivorians took the lead through Franck Kessie after a swift counterattack, leaving Germany trailing at halftime. However, substitute Deniz Undav transformed the contest after coming on in the 60th minute. He headed home the equaliser in the 68th minute before scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner to complete Germany’s comeback. Undav now has nine goals in his last eight international appearances.
The victory guarantees Germany a place in the Round of 32 and keeps them in contention to finish top of Group E.
