Connor Esterhuizen Smashes Maiden ODI Century As South Africa Beat Namibia By 157 Runs

South Africa secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match ODI series against Namibia with a convincing 157-run victory in Windhoek on Friday. Connor Esterhuizen starred with his maiden international century, smashing 119 off 110 balls, including six sixes and eight fours.

After Jordan Hermann fell for 20, Esterhuizen and Tony de Zorzi (79) put on a commanding 183-run partnership to help South Africa post 335/9 in 50 overs. Esterhuizen, playing only his second ODI, bounced back strongly after scoring just 10 in the series opener.

Namibia’s chase got off to a disastrous start as they slipped to 32/5, with Michael van Lingen, Malan Kruger and Jan Frylinck dismissed for ducks. Captain Gerhard Erasmus fought back with 68, adding 71 runs with Jan Bait, but Namibia were eventually bowled out for 178 in 41.5 overs. South Africa’s Dayan Jansen impressed with 4/31, while Jack Brassell took 4/64.
