Leandro Trossard Double Powers Belgium into FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32

Leandro Trossard scored twice as Belgium thrashed New Zealand 5-1 to finish top of Group G and qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32.

Belgium and Egypt both ended the group stage on five points, but the Red Devils secured first place on goal difference after Egypt drew 1-1 with Iran. Trossard opened the scoring in the 28th minute from Kevin De Bruyne’s cross before doubling the lead early in the second half. De Bruyne also found the net to become Belgium’s oldest-ever FIFA World Cup goalscorer at 34. New Zealand briefly threatened but Belgium dominated throughout to seal an emphatic victory.

Iran finished third with three points, while New Zealand exited with just one point.
