West Indies have added wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad for the five-match series against India as cover for Jewel Andrew, who suffered a finger injury during the third ODI on Saturday. Andrew, 19, has not been ruled out and remains under observation by the team’s medical staff. Scans revealed no fracture after he was injured while taking a catch to dismiss Naman Dhir.
Jangoo, 29, has played seven T20Is since making his international debut in December 2024, scoring 163 runs at a strike rate of 120.74. He was also in excellent form during the ODI series against India, scoring 239 runs, including 58 not out, 114 and 67.
He recently contributed to Antigua and Barbuda Falcons’ CPL 2026 title triumph, scoring 213 runs. His unbeaten 57 off 34 balls in the final helped the Falcons beat Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets.
The first T20I will be played in Lucknow on Tuesday.
